Mariah Storie is a visual storyteller whose passions revolve around creating art to dig deeper into the human psyche and the complexities of identity. Her love for art and great storytelling hails from an unrelenting hunger to surround herself by things that make her think deeply and feel intensely, expanding her perspective on different lifestyles and attitudes towards our existence. Her desire to use the visual arts to enhance viewers’ relationships with others and themselves may very well be attributed to her Colombian-American adoptee experience, her preoccupation with her femininity and its place in the world, a passion for mental health awareness and social justice, as well as a high value of empathy towards others and what they are going through.

With a writer’s approach to creative endeavors and an eye for powerful narrative, she hopes her work may inspire in others a greater appreciation for the beauty of introspection and a more profound mindfulness of various overlooked human experiences. She has been able to explore this relationship between human connection and self-growth through her character-driven short stories, documentary production and docu-style content creation, as well through the practice of painting the mind more abstractly through animation and motion graphics projects.

Hailing from Syracuse, New York, Mariah studies Television Radio and Film at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, with minors Creative Writing, Philosophy, and Psychology. An enthusiastic and hard-working creative, she’s looking for more opportunities to develop her authentic style in the film and digital media industries.
